I have a confession. I’ve been meaning to review these since December and just hadn’t got around to it. But finally, after much delay, here we have a review of some of the So…? fragrance products I got as samples when I attended the Blogosphere Magazine Christmas Festival back in December.
From left to right, we have the Body Mist in ‘Vanilla Milkshake’, a body spray in ‘I am So…?’, fragrance mist in ‘I am So…?, fragrance mist in ‘Sheer Illusion’ and a perfume in ‘Floral Crush’.
The most used bottle in this lineup is ‘Sheer Illusion’, and that’s because it smells beautiful and just a tiny bit like butterscotch. It’s hard to describe exactly the scent, but it’s definitely got a sandalwood base, which I love – I like sandalwood, and the undertones of this one appeal to me.
I’m definitely going to buy another bottle of this one when it’s finished. I like it a lot – it’s not heavy like some perfumes can be and you only need a light spritz to get a good payoff of scent. The packaging is pretty too, and it looks good on my shelf. I am going to pick up the other variants of this scent and see how the whole range works together, but so far, I really like this fragrance mist.
I’m not quite so enamoured of the other scents – ‘I am So…?’ isn’t bad as a body spray, but the fragrance mist is rather sugary. It reminds me of candy floss and is too sweet for me. The body spray and the fragrance mist together is really sugary and someone has remarked that I smell like cupcake frosting when I wear the two together. I will continue to use the body spray, but the fragrance mist will probably be banished to the back of the cupboard.
The ‘Floral Crush’ perfume is a lovely light scent – it’s definitely a summer scent, and as we’re in the depths of winter, it’s not really the right time for me to wear it. I will be keeping it until summer is here, then I’ll give it a go and properly review it in about July. Fragrances can be seasonal too, and ‘Floral Crush’ screams ‘summer’ to me, so we shall see.
And finally, there’s the ‘Vanilla Milkshake’ body mist. My least favourite of the products, it smells like you’d think – like a vanilla milkshake. It’s sweet, it’s cloying and for some reason, my grandma loves it. I’m going to give it to her, because I think I smell like someone’s smeared ice cream all over me when I wear it. It’s not a bad smell, it’s just not me.
The ‘So…?’ range is good for a budget range of fragrances, and I find myself reaching more for my ‘Sheer Illusion’ bottle these days than my Dior or Paco Rabanne fragrances. You can get this range in Superdrug and Boots, and it retails for under £10 a bottle, so it’s very affordable. There are far more scents than I’ve reviewed here, and I think I need to explore some of the brand’s other offerings. If I do, I’ll report back – have any of you readers tried it? Do you have any recommendations for scents I should try? Let me know in the comments!
