It’s that time of the month again, readers! The Glossybox has arrived, and May sees another themed box.
The theme is ‘daydreamer’ and everything in this box is designed to be calming and relaxing. Heck, even the box design itself is a thing of wonderful calm.
I really love this box design. I like the themed boxes – even though I love the normal Glossyboxes, there’s just something about the themed boxes that makes me smile even more.
So what does this lovely cloudy dreamy box contain?
- Maria Nila True Soft Shampoo & Conditioner
- GelSpa Just For Feet – Luxury Jelly Foot Soak
- Kueshi Facial Makeup Remover
- We Are Tea Earl Grey Tea (ok this isn’t actually strictly part of the box, it’s just an extra little treat, it’s not cosmetics, obviously)
- Trifle Cosmetics Praline Palette
It’s a nice little box, and I intend to try everything in it. Let’s take a closer look at the products (except the tea, you don’t need to see what tea looks like).
Maria Nila True Soft Shampoo & Conditioner
I am always up for trying a new shampoo and conditioner. My illness and my medication have ruined my previously super-shiny locks, and I have yet to find something that makes them at least look as good as they used to before I got this wretched illness, even if it is faked. These smell really good, so that’s a positive start.
The fact they’re all-natural does give me pause – not because I don’t like natural products, but because previous times I’ve used products that are sulphate and paraben free, my hair has really, really dried out. My hair seems to respond best to non-ethical brands, and the cheaper the better, but we’ll give these a go and see what happens.
GelSpa Just For Feet – Luxury Jelly Foot Soak
There’s nothing quite like soaking your feet after a long day, and I fully intend to give this a go after I’ve been on a long hike or had a hard day in the garden. I’d definitely class my feet as ‘problematic’ with their dry skin and callouses, so let’s see what this can do!
Kueshi Facial Make Up Remover
This reminds me of the Nivea eye makeup remover I’m already using, and fortunately that one is running out so I can give this one a go. I like the dual layer quite-oily eye makeup removers like this one because the mascara I use literally does not budge unless it’s attacked by something like an oil (coconut oil works well in a pinch) so we’ll see if this remover passes the mascara test!
Trifle Cosmetics Praline Palette
This is the most adorably tiny eyeshadow palette. Look how little it is in comparison to one of my Makeup revolution ones!
It’s the perfect size for travel, and I’ve got two work trips this month, so it will be coming with me in my travel bag and the big palettes can stay at home.
The packaging out of the box is really cute as well:
And the shades in the palette are really nice – I can see myself wearing all of these.
My only criticism is that there isn’t a bright colour such as a white for the inner corner of the eye, but I have a white single eyeshadow that I can use with this one for travel that negates the problem of there not being a really pale shade in this palette. These are quite autumnal shades, which surprised me for a palette we were being given in spring, but they’re pretty and the shade range is versatile enough to create a few looks from.
So that’s the May Glossybox – I do like this box, and can’t wait to get started on the products! Especially the foot soak. I think I’ll be needing that, given how busy this month is shaping up to be already.
